Love the SL, what a super-super-cool car.  Mega-car for you to ride around in as kid.

Ta so much for the Dukes of Hazzard pic.  Also ultra-cool.  Yee-ha to ya.  And we even had a favourite bridge near Uxbridge where we'd try to get some sky...

Here's only google pic I could find of my fave car as kid.  Purple Ford Corsair.  Bought one when I was 14 with 3 mates for £200.   Loved it.  Fibreglass wings and all.

Ahh, childhood.  A time when you didn't look at reliability, handling or build quality.  When a cool car was a car which looked good or had a new gizmo.  I think I've become old and cynical!  Anyway, back to the question.....

A Rover SD1 Vitesse - the later one with the modified plenum chamber - because it had the deeper meaner front spoiler.

My dad always had the Vanden Plas models, but I always wanted the Vitesse.  There's probably quite an interesting study to be done about how our parents car choice effects our view on cars later in life.

Hang on.. that old blokes trying to pinch the wheels off that SD1 !!.. and everyone blames the chavs!

My favourite car from my child hood was my dads Triumph Dolomite 1500TC.

It was a special edition with the Triumph lorrel leaves on the bonnet. At 6 years old I was polishing the chrome bumpers on that car, ( 21 years later and I'm a car valeter, I blame British Leyland to be honest!) Many a happy memory.

    ..Just a thought.. hmm

My twin sister's best friend's Dad had a Jenson FF which I though was great, it looked and sounded fabulous and I was in seventh heaven when he took us all for a short drive one day, I must have been about twelve. On a more realistic level, I did try and persuade my Dad to get a Triumph Stag, but sadly he stuck with his Rover 2000s and I eventually learned to drive on one of those, and I still remember them with pleasure.

My dad used to have a Vanden Plas Princess Mark II 3 litre and a black MK1 XJS, both of which I loved...

Being poor white trash we never had a car growing up.

We had the bus and the train instead (remember those?).

The number 62 bus was good but the train to Glasgow Queen Street was much faster.
