  • FIA distances itself from Mosley scandal

    May 07, 2008 9:27 PM

Motorsport’s governing body, the FIA, has distanced itself from allegations in a Sunday newspaper about its president Max Mosley. The News of the World accused the 67-year old of taking part in a “sadomasochistic Nazi orgy”, and posted video extracts of its material on its website, notw.co.uk.

Far as I've seen this is nowt to do with 'Nazi' though I think Gurbles would admire the journalists at the News of the World for the attempted smeer campaign!

This is all about Political Correctness v Life.

If Mosely loses his job over a private life incident (widely enjoyed by Judges, lawyers and Joe Public who frequent Anne Summers shops) then it's a sad day for life and a great day for hypocracy and the dulling, slow death effect of the PC movement.

His contract is up in June next year anyway. He's out.

I think this whole episode shows exceptionally poor judgement on his part. Judgement is a key requirement for his job. He has already allegedly alienated some foreign countries who have refused to meet him. This shows that it has impacted his ability to do his job.

As a decent family man, I am appalled at his behaviour and think he should go. I don't think this is a PC attitude - I think my other posts show that I am not normally one to follow the crowd ! I think this is just decency, something that Max Mosley did not demonstrate and which alienates him from me. This being the case, I don't want him influencing something that I enjoy following.

James - you don't know what arrangement Max-It has with his wife. It may be an open marriage. Either way he has to sort that out.

Whilst I understand your outrage we live in a country where 'putting it about a bit' is a national past time of Kings, politicians and Chief Execs. And the women aren't all Angels either! It may not be 'right' but its debatable what harm it does.

The point is surely it is his private life. The 'problem' if there is one is the hooker gave up her professional code to keep stum. We can only guess why she recorded the event and 'gave' it away.

Another 'problem' is why a number of teams have come out so anti-Max-It. If they're all Church goers my names Pope John Paul. The hypocracy is just piling up round here. Nobody looks good.
