  • Peugeot RC-Z for production

    Apr 25, 2008 6:17 PM

Peugeot has announced that it will produce the RC-Z coupé that made its debut in concept form at Frankfurt in 2007.
You can expect to see the full production model for the first time at the 2009 Frankfurt show, before sales begin in spring 2010.
Deciding to create the RC-Z is a significant step for the French marque. It will represent a move away from the current design philosophy associated with its coupés and roadsters, and signal a move towards a new era of appealing driver’s cars and ...Read the full article

Hmm, from the B-Pillar forward it's a slightly face-lifted Pug saloon or hatch, so the big news for this car is the styling from that point back... only thats all it is, styling. Those rear seats don't look like practical seats, making it a big two seat coupe. Would you chose this car over a Audi or Nissan etc.? It's a Peugeot! I've owned one for a few years, and not only is the cars reliability laughable, the dealer service is only only matched in it's woefulness by the treatment from Peugeot UK. I'd advise all to steer well clear of the brand.

Such a shame, as I feel the same about SEAT due to my very very poor service during my 2 cupra ownership previously. The thing is, I know plenty of fed up Ford, Renault, Honda customers who feel exactly the same!

What do we do?-All buy Skoda's?

I know, I know, they're all as bad as each other, but really my dealer was absolute ****

Not for me as the same dealer sells Skoda as Peugeot, I did give them a econd chance when trying to buy a company car, but they were asking £1,500 over Skoda's list price!! so I went and got a Honda and couldn't be happier with the quality or dealer.

interestingly Peugeots were very well rated by "non-enthusiast" motorists.  i think it was in Steve Cropley's article.

some were claiming that the brand managed to symbolise something special, but i don't buy that its the logo or the sound of the name.

still Steve is right that Peugeot are onto something if they can produce dross and sell it to the masses.  but how long can they push their luck?

p.s. i actually think this RC-Z is pretty foxy looking.  but for reasons cited above by others which concur with my experiences, i doubt i'll ever get one.

It looks okay, but isn't a proper coupe. It needs/should be RWD. When will Manufacturers realise a sports car/coupe must be RWD. FWD is for hot hatches/Repmobiles.

when it doesn't cost a fortune to re-engineer their cheaper cars' fwd platforms into rwd ones.
