China is a fascinating place; they recently announced in rebuttal to a question on Tibet that Tibet has no history as a country; which is interesting; considering that China was not a single entity itself until 1949. They are also a Communist country practicing Socialism with Chinese characteristics in a world where every other major power is capitalist.
Despite this they are going to take up Porsche UKs 2500 car reduction in allocation this year and Mercedes is going to release its new GLK in Beijing. While the olympics may be about to signal a political crisis bettered only in the last 20 years by Tiannemen square it is clear to me that China is going to have over the next few years a turning point. This seminal moment may be when car manufacturers start looking towards China when designing, building and marketing cars. Can this be a good thing and when will this moment be? Oh yes...and what does anyone think about the GLK? (post rant sensible question!)
