    What is it?

An automotive game of spot the difference. Four years after Mercedes launched the banana shaped, four door coupé CLS it has given it the most mild of facelifts.

Essentially, ever-so-slightly tweaked bumpers, larger wing mirrors and inside, a new infotainment system. The give away sign distinguishing the new model from old, the grille, which now features two horizontal louvers rather than four. Or if you’re following, the new trapezoidal exhausts and LED rear ligh...Read the full article

It's a shame they didn't change the headlights, the rest of the car is so sleek, the headlights give it an ungainly look. An automotive BOBFOC if ever there was one!

I am also reminded of an article Chris Harris wrote about exhaust ettiqutte. Merc have committed a faux pas in allowing the pipes feeding the rear silencers to be visible from behind. I think Chris may have described as being like having your underwear on display in public!

Still looks utterly gorgeous in side profile though.

I'm glad Mercedes didn't do radical facelift of this car. Itts simply stunning! I don't mind the new 2 bar radiator grille but i really hate those new rectangular tail lamps. Its just a magnificent piece of design! An un-faceliftable car. It'll be interesting to see what mercedes comes up with to replace this car.

My second favourite Merc after the brutal CL coupe. I actually like the light arrangements, front and rear.

Saw a white CL63 AMG recently, imposing was not the half of it!

Looks are of a personal taste but i reckon the CLS looks stunning, especially in AMG guise. Either way, no-one can deny the CLS is a striking looking car but judging by this report it seems Autocar have gone lukewarm on the car.

When launched this mag thought the car was superb, but now it appears to be little more than average while the looks now seem to be a negative asset. At this rate, the CLS will be regarded as dreadful in a years time.

Ditto all the above comments.. it's beautiful on the street. A friend of a friend has one, in black, and I'm informed can't come out of a door in the morning without standing for a moment to admire... every day!

Having seen the new E300D Blue with a £1,700 Brabus upgrade that takes the diesel to 450lb torque I reckon when that engines dropped in the CLS body it'll be nearer perfection than any other car on the market - no matter what you've driven before!
