Common sense prevails. Strange I'm no fan of the Yanks but on climate change and the Con-Zone these Americans can teach the Europeans everything there is to know about getting it bang on (ie. right).

Did the Americans look at the miserable failure that is the Con-Zone to achieve any of its targets. Did the "cynicism about the adminstrative costs" come from looking at 65% of the money politically extorted from motorists pockets go straight into the Champagne Charlies pockets at Capita Plc.

It seems it's not all about revenue raising in the States, as it is here.

Jon - It's actually a sign of sanity you agree with me (unless I'm mad and think I'm sane and you're going senile!!). Anyway can I just split hairs and point out this isnt a 'revenue raising scam' as 65% of the revenue raised goes into the biggest lining of private sector pockets known to man. It's one of the most costly Government scams ever administered.

I believe since 1993 Red Ken has 'made' about £15M from the £1bn extortion off motorists - which barely covers all the public money, its interest payments, the Government p*ssed, sorry 'invested' in the scam.

And the government are throwing more money bribing other councils to introduce the scam. It's a miserable failure. What a good idea according to Government. Lets double, triple, quadruple the losses nationwide. Anyone round here any idea why the countries going bankrupt?    

Just seen the BBC Newsnight debate between 3 of the 10 candidates for the London Major Elections. Both the Lib-Dem and Tory candidates said they wouldn't extend the Con-Zone scam to the West London area (3 out of 4 locals don't want the scam on their turf) and both also agreed they wouldn't have the £25 charge (although the Lib-Dem candidate wanted charges extended to smaller cars - loser!).

Red 'going-green' Ken wanted both (despite undemocratically forcing the scam down the throats of Londoners after they voiced their opposition to the Con-Zone). What a two-faced troll.

None of the candidates had the balls to say the Con-Zone was a miserable failure to achieve pollution or congestion targets and a massive financial scandal of wasted public money. So hope there's some independant candidates that give Londoners some real political choice! 

  

JJ, re. the tossing out of Con-charge by N York, came across this article on California and escaping fines, tolls so on for favoured officials - coming to UK, here already? - re <1% of cops, blue light or no blue light being prosecuted for being flashed on speed camera; could the same be happening in London's con area unbeknownst to the mug punters coughing up for it? Yes. one rule for us, another for the jet-set eco-politicians and their supporting croney elite. The biggest hypocrites include Al Gore who won't take the Eco-Pledge and dodges any democratic debates - he prefers charging $3,000 a minute for a green speech where people can't answer back or ask questions. Much like the British Government in fact who eco-tax-grab without any democratic debate. 

What the hell are those in the US thinking of:

- Listening to public opinion.

- Not wanting to penalise motorists.

- Not forcing but enticing you onto public transport via improvements

 If they want to make more money they should listen to our Ken he knows how to tax the hell out of motorists!

Indeed. It's not only Red Ken that has 'revived' the miserable failure of Marxist-Lenonnist theory on controlling capital goods, markets and the free movement of labour. The oh-so old dead theory Nu Labour Party, after conning us into believing they 'believed' in free-markets have gone hell for leather into taxing every efficient, wealth creating part of the economy and capatalist luxury.

The Communists ran out of money as their economies went bankrupt and fell further and further behind. They stood in drab grey food cues whilst the capatalist, oil-driven western economies created efficiency and wealth for its citizens to enjoy 2 holidays a year, 2 cars and even 2 homes filled with high technology goods.

But along comes Commie Eco-Socialist Republic Labour who thinks the Con-Zone cost of £200M+ per year for achieving sod-all but restricting peoples freedom of movement (on roads they paid for!) is a great Commie idea - roll back private transport, roll out and subsidise public transport so it can keep running so it doesn't go bankrupt like the USSR.

We now have Labours 'The Energy Savings Trust' (rammed full of Marxist-Lenonnist over-paid pig-ignorant cronies) who want private companies to collude with the Govt eco-scam by 'downgrading' company cars from a luxury purchase to Commie-approved hybrid Trabants and telling employees which cars to spend their car-bonuses on!

Russia not only now believes in capatalism but refused to sign the Kyoto-scam which meant Kyoto failed to get onboard the 55% of global carbon emitters that the process required for it to come into law. Thank heavens for the Ruskies, much more sensible than the Eco-Marxists in our government.

As we destroy our economy and peoples standards of living by extorting money from the wealthy mass (motorists) and burn money subsidising economic failures like bio-fuels, hybrids, buses and trains (public transport, it worked for communism didn't it?!!) and to pay for the expodential growth of an obese centralised government politbureau. Carl Marx and Lennon would be so proud of this green eco-scam hiding all their Red theories.

Totally agree about Al Gore At a previous employer Mr Gore was visiting and whilst there, preaching about the climate con i found a few things rather amusing to say the least. The Hotel that Mr Gore was stopping in is quite literally next door no more than 10 meters from door to door, but because of "Security" he had to have 3 Range Rovers and his car to pick him up and drive him to the hotel. The Second thing was that due to "security again" that his plane was only half full because general public were not allowed on the flight, even the queen flys with normal folk on state tours. I dread to think how much CO2 this wasted. And the 3rd thing is that Mr Gores house permanently has its lights on, and not one of the bulbs are energy efficient.  We had the opportunity to ask questions to the Former "Mr Vice President" has he had to be addressed and my simple question was, With today’s extremely advanced technology would it not have been more environmentally friendly to do this talk via video link, like prince Charles did recently to reduce unnecessary flights? I received no answer and I no longer work for that company.

Mr Gore has indeed avoided a lot of debates (and questions). There's a website now called 'demand debate'.com that wants Gore or any global warming advocate to have a proper debate. They prefer, like the British Govt, to maintain this stupid pretence that 'the science is settled.. there's a consensus.. the debate is over" which couldn't be further from the truth 

There problem is, at least for climate warmers, that what few debates there have been (1 in New York last year) the climate warmers resoundingly come out losers (which is what Gore is). We really do need some democracy and a debate before this sham goes any further.

 I have to agree with JJ on this one. the Yanks just won't tolerate any stupidity abt this climate change scam. meanwhile, we Brits just sit down and say 'oh well' and just keep getting punished for trying to make out lives better. where will all this end? I mean,  all the figures that Red Ken ever comes up with are skewed up. lets face, we don't really have a say anymore if after a survey over 65% of londoners didn't want an extension of the con charge but yet he still got it thru and extended the zone. why did they bother with the survey then? they should have just come out and said 'right, we're extending the con-charge zone and there's nothing you can do abt it'. that'd make more sense. see, we always mock the Yanks, but they killed the idea b4 it even got anywhere. and these are the guys that have more private transport and public transport than us brits. as for Al Gore and the likes, no wonder he lost the elections, maybe the americans saw something we didn't after all. and all hail the Ruskies. at least they don't set abt fake pretences.
