You are looking at the MC1; a British designed and built supercar that could be on sale by 2011.
The car uses a 600bhp, mid-mounted V10, and is of true supercar proportions at over 4.5-metres long and 1.9-metres wide.
You probably haven't heard of Motorcity, but it's an established name in automotive design. Owned by British designer David Hilton, the studios are based in Germany and have produced cars such as the most recent Ford Mustang and S-Max.

Exscuse me wasn't it on sale in the 80's? Looks remarkably like the Jaguar XJR supercar that was on sale then! MC1 looks like a smartly hi-tek evilution of the Jag' and no less attractive for the fact either. Very Yummy :)

Sorry, for being rude, sarcastic or just caustic, but I dont see the British car industry has the know-how or financial back up to devenlop something like a true supercar anymore 

Very nice !! However, the only thing the MC1 has in common with 80's Jags, is the fact that it is 'rounded' in form! The sculpture here is well more modern than the stiff, edged boxes we see on the roads today. Agree that we have seen too many UK Supercars come and go, but they sure are nice to see (better than not).The MC1 looks very exciting, lets get those investors together for lunch! Maybe we get lucky and one hits. Till then, keep these beauties coming!

 Where do you get your 'facts' from?

Dave Hilton is not British - he's American.

The Mustang was designed in Ford's studio in Detroit under Larry Erickson, if my memory serves me right.

The S-Max design would have been done in Ford's European studios under Martin Smith a while after Dave left to set up his own studio.

Mr Hilton is a very talented guy , having done the original Focus RS as one of the first projects after setting up his studio, and has a good enough portfolio without other designer's work being accredited to him.

Apology accepted, however, the comment about the UK car industry not having the know how is wrong. This country is the main stay of the F1 field, therefore, we have the know how. The comment regarding financial backing is an unknown given the amount of multi millionaire business people who appear to love cars.

Hi All !! Thanks for the comments, they seriously do help (pos and neg). I could not resist the temptation to Blog in. Normally, its just great to sit and read, but I need to clear a few things. Robbie is right on a few bits. Yes, I am a Septic.. from Detroit. The RS was indeed my first independent job, and I Designed that one alone. Was great. From there, Ford continued to work with me. Whereby I then designed the Focus ST at Ford, and (as it says in my Press Pack) 'CO'-Designed the Smax, before Mr. Smith arrived... I was on the Smax exterior for 2 years.

The Mustang was CO-Designed and heavily inspired by my Design partner (the last 3.5 years) Mr. J.Hope. Check the sketch signatures on the site. Most production cars are a CO-Designed in a Team. That is a blessing and a curse. How else can you see 1million of you and your work mate's babies on the road? Commitee designs can be challenging, however its big business, and thats how it goes. This is the number one reason I like to design Supercars. They are fast, independent projects which one designer can handle. Its rare and its a great way to make an impression.

Please keep up the Blogs! We all like to hear what people think about our work. Many of your criticisms will influence the car. Thanks also for the compliment... generally, all Designers see in their work are the mistakes and what could be better or fixed. Other enthusiasts fresh eyes are a great reality hammer. Cool - a real car person who designs them and stuff.

Awesome.

The British do not deserve a home grown supercar, despite my own feelings of support for something like this.

Why?

1. They'll only find cause to find fault with it, then buy another b****dy BMW M5, which will all the same faults.

2. The authorities will demonise it.

3. It will be a cash cow for the authorities.

4. We let Rover die.

5. They will not put a wood inlay dashboard in it.

6. British are no fun when it comes to cars.

7. Despite the picture, it'll end up looking like a 1930's Jaguar XK 'roadster'.

I do think it's a great idea. I just hate to think of it being born into modern Britain, with our modern British cynical and negative approach that many of us display.

Ho hum.

You have to pick yourself up Stephen. The British are great at supercars.
