Indeed no need for child locks, as anyone in the back on that side can escape until the drivers doors open

even better that means the driver is stood outside and can control anyperson who is about to jump out into traffic unlike with a 4 door!!!

anyway what a fun car, we did a motorclub even the other weekend in north yorkshire including 2 and 3rd gear stuff and the car returned 64+ to the gallon.

Woody Wood Pepper was a replacement for a CRV and is much more fun

TR7, yes we've had one. don't forget to add the extra 4 cylinders if you want real fun. Definately an under rated car

Can I recommend he fits some Ferodo DS2500 "racing pads". He needn't worry that they need heat to work: they don't. They are absolutely brilliant from cold and give excellent feel while providing plenty of stopping power. Unless Mr Honda says you can't, I strongly advise you try them. I have them on the Integra and an M5 as well. The Civic will feel like a different car, I promise.

Apparently numerous people have walked out of the showroom and bought elsewhere purely as a result of sitting in the Civic and looking through the rear view mirror.

I can see where you are coming from with this one. I am just about to change my MK5 Golf (shoddily built, leaky and dull) for a petrol Clubman. We managed to blag an early demonstrater for a 48hr test. 250 miles around the Brecon Beacons and back roads of the Mendips was more than enough to convince me.

The Clubman is a little compromised - getting a bike into it is a bit of a squeeze, but is is just big enough for our needs and very tax efficient.

My wife and I were won over by the sheer quality and driveability of the car. The sense of fun - and a practical(ish) car that puts a smile on your face is a rare thing and pretty much justifies the price tag. I know I could order a GT Golf for the same monthly rental but I have been there and it just doesn't do it for me any more.

A hidden benefit is that I can have it serviced at Wellsway in Bath giving me the ideal cover for sourcing spares for my 635 Highline & M Coupe without 'er indoors finding out.

We've got them in our last gen C class and they're brillant; easy to use and set. I think every car should have them.

The Rear side door opens into the road. Just what a young mum needs. If it had rear doors on both sides it would be a practical piece of kit as it stands i shall continue to snigger quietly at any i see on the road. But i haven't seen one yet...

Re the keyless entry - we have that on our titanium x, and its a right pain in the seat! It has got to the stage where we always carry both fobs with us, as you never know if it will let you in.

You can supposedly use the built in emergencey key, which is great for opening the door, but does not turn the alarm or immobiliser off. Then, the key is supposed to fit in under the blanking plate, but does not, so you are stranded until the whole thing decides to play.

It has been reprogrammed twice, and still does not work right! Great.

Re the Privacy glass- also on ours and is very useful as we carry two pedigree terriers around, and no one can see them when the car is parked. The solar reflect screen - also on, but I am not sure of the benefit, all it has done has cost me money in buying an aerial for the Tom Tom, which worked in the previous Mondeo perfectly - that also had heated screen but not Solar Reflect.

I find the standard headlamps excellent, on dip and main beam, so not sure about having the need for Xenon, except perhaps for the wash facility.

Still, 19000 miles since July 3rd, and still quite happy with my choice!

DAVE

Sometimes on cold mornings, it sounds as if the fan belt is slipping. I hear that squeal which takes me back 10 years to a Metro which I owned and for the most part loved. I feel the same about the Mondeo. Maybe I only feel this way about cars whose names begin with M and and with O.
