The Maser plan

Chas Hallett
I've always had a soft spot for Maseratis. Even when they've leaked on me, broken down and deposited their wiring looms on my feet.
So a weekend in the new GT coupe was an eye-opener. Well made, stunning to look at, great to drive and, best of all, Maserati are no longer giving anyone an excuse not to buy one. And that's the company's greatest achievement of all.

I am just happy that a marque like Maserati has finally got it's act together, and is now producing beautiful cars that drive well and are well put together. The fact that they have soul is, for me, more important than the ability to put one over on the established faceless German marques.

I'm not so sure about the GT's styling having seen it in the flesh. Looks unwieldy, Gotham City-esque. Not my idea of a lithe coupe.
