Strong contender for most forgettable car on sale, but worthy nonetheless. It may be as exciting as a church pew, but the Vectra has a job to do – that job is traipsing around the UK’s motorway network, which it does well enough. Turbocharged VXR is a surprisingly sorted device and the three-litre diesel really gets going, but for most the honest 1.9 CDTi is the obvious choice.
