Without the Boxster it's not unduly dramatic to say that Porsche, as an independent company, would probably not exist in 2006. And what a way to save yourself! Now in its second generation, the Boxster is as good to drive as it ever was. Yet nowadays, thanks to more power and subtle suspension tweaks, it's faster and more exhilarating on the road. Best version is the S, but the basic model is now notably swifter than before. Knocks a TT cabrio firmly into touch.
