Since its birth two decades ago the S-class has ruled supreme among luxury cars, and the new version does nothing to buck that trend. It is, all in all, very probably the best car in the world, featuring a quite staggering array of technical highlights and a ride/handling package that is second to none at this level. We're not entirely convinced by the way it looks, but then the S-class has rarely won any beauty contests. Best version? You guessed it, the regular-wheelbase 320 Cdi.
