Very possibly Britain's best-value car, the RX-8 has so much going for it yet costs – relative to its opposition – so little that it's not hard to work out why it's been so successful. Poor fuel consumption aside, the RX-8 has so many strengths – including head-turning looks, strong if peaky performance, a genuinely entertaining rear-drive chassis and proper four-door, four-seat accommodation – that it has the affordable coupé market sewn up right now. And it's hard to see that changing any time
