The idea that the S2000 was a kind of MX-5 with afterburners turned out to be seriously wrong-headed: it transpired that while the Honda roadster clearly had the speed, it entirely lacked the MX-5's benign nature. It wasn't just tricky to drive on the limit - it was virtually impossible. Subsequently tamed, but still a challenge.
