Paul Wilson, press officer for Ford UK said, “Almost 50 per cent of all Ford performance products are sold in the UK and we are expecting to get around 4000 Focus RSs in the total production run of 8000 units”.
The heavily modified 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 295bhp and 302lb ft of torque, enough to propel the RS to 60mph in under six seconds and onto a top speed of 155mph, says Ford.
Ford hasn’t confirmed an on-sale date yet, but we can expect to see the RS in showrooms by summer 2009.
