Anyone planning a holiday in America this year will have the opportunity to rent a limited-edition Corvette ZHZ direct from leasing giant Hertz.
There’s obviously a bit of corporate jealously behind GM’s decision to offer the limited-edition ‘Vette as part of Hertz’s appropriately-named Fun collection – Ford is already supplying special Mustang 350 GT-Hs ‘rent-a-racers’.
ZHZ spec is unique to Hertz, and although it’s in lower tune than the full-spec Z06, a dual-mode exhaust system gives helps yield 430bhp from the 6.2-litre V8 engine. All versions also get a six-speed automatic transmission, although at least Hertz has specified this in conjunction with steering-wheel paddle shifters.
All Corvette ZHZs are finished in a unique Hertz yellow colour, complete with black racing stripes.
Hertz will be taking 500 ZHZs onto the fleet, but they will only be offered at 25 major airports across the USA. The current exchange rate will also work in favour of British petrolheads looking for a low-price muscle-car experience, with rental starting from $154.40 (c.£90) a week.
Still want that Camry?
