Jean Todt has stepped down as CEO of Ferrari, the company revealed today.

Todt will be replaced by product supremo Amadeo Felisa, who was previously Ferrari’s Vice General Manager. Luca di Montezemolo stays on as president of the company.

He left his position as F1 team principal to take charge of Maranello’s road car operations earlier this year. He has held the commanding CEO position at Ferrari since October 2006.

Todt will stay on Ferrari’s board of directors and has been given special appointments in 'GT activities' and 'Sports Management’.

“A new phase of my life has now begun in which I will have more time to dedicate to myself and my other interests,” said Todt. “Naturally I will continue to make a contribution to Ferrari.”

Ferrari released a statement thanking Todt for his "extraordinary human and professional contribution" over the last fifteen years.
