Though it doesn’t officially go on sale in the UK until 2009, the first examples of Nissan’s GT-R are already arriving here through unofficial channels. Our own Chris Harris had a go in one of them only last week, and so Autocar can bring you the first driving impression of the 473bhp super-coupe yet produced in the UK.

Harris drove the Nissan last Friday, and you can read his impressions on how the four-wheel-drive hell-raiser performed on our own peculiar breed of B-road by clicking here. Suffice it to say for now that he was grateful for the comfort setting on the car’s adaptive dampers, but also claims to be joining the waiting list for a GT-R of his own very soon.

Harris also turned up with a Porsche 911 Turbo – the car the GT-R was designed to unseat as undisputed king of all-weather performance – and you can read the full twin test in Autocar magazine, out February 20.

Come back to Autocar.co.uk on February 20 to watch exclusive video from our UK GT-R drive
