Most of us watch rally drivers such as Sebastian Loeb in nothing but slack-jawed awe, but if you're among the few who look on and think "I could do that," then UK rallying specialists Rally Torque has just provided a chance for you to put your money where your mouth is.

The outfit is launching a rally driving experience targetted at talented amateurs rather than average joe drivers. It's called a rally taster day; it includes turns behing the wheel of a mk I Ford Escort, a Porsche 911 and a modern Subaru Impreza WRX; participants get expert tuition from professional rally drivers, and access to a real gravel WRC stage; it costs £3495; and by the end of it, they promise, you'll know how talented you really are behind the wheel.

The taster days will be held at the Walters Arena Motorsport Complex, used as part of Wales Rally GB. Providing instruction on them, among other names, will be former British Rally Champion Martin Rowe. Overalls, helmets and other safety gear will be provided.

Former British Historic Rally Champion James Strait, the driving force behind Rally Torque says: “This isn’t about thrashing an old banger through the dirt – it’s an opportunity to experience driving some of the best and most professionally prepared rally cars with highly experienced rally drivers, and it's designed for those who are serious about getting into competitive rallying but don't know if they have what it takes."
