German tuner AC Schnitzer is taking BMW's 1-series coupé closer than ever to the M3 (and possibly beyond it) with this, its take on the 135i.
The Aachen-based firm's modifications take the 135i's twin-turbo, straight-six engine to a heady 355bhp and 332lb ft, enough to propel the baby 2+2 to 62mph in under five seconds and a top speed of 186mph.
Beyond the engine upgrades, the Schnitzer 1-series coupé gets sports suspension, an additional strut brace, a rear wing and roof spoiler, revised front aerodynamics and 19in alloy wheels.
Schnitzer isn't limiting its mods to the range-topper, either; it is also offering diesel upgrades that will add around 30bhp.
