Aston Martin boss Ulrich Bez has been named 'German national responsible for making the most positive contribution to Anglo-German dialogue in 2007.'

The award was given by the German-British Forum, an association dedicated to improving relations between the two nations, with particular interest in economic and business links.

Previous recipients of the award include tennis player Borris Becker and German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer.

The 2007 award went to Bez for achievements over his seven-year role as CEO of Aston Martin, where he has successfully altered the brand image and helped produce the highest selling models in Aston Martin's history.

Bez seemed suitably grateful for his award, claiming that "to be given this accolade and placed alongside such an impressive roll of previous award winners is certainly an honour."

Naturally, you would expect it to be an honour for the man who ultimately restored Aston Martin and secured thousands of jobs in the process, to receive the same award as Boris Becker.
