First Drive
Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 CDTi
Test date 16 October 2005
Price as tested £21,720
What’s new?
The snazzy new nose and chassis tweaks we tested in the hatchback recently find their way to the estate variants. The tailgate and vast load bay are untouched.
What’s it like?
Very similar to the hatchback, which means significantly improved handling. All ’06 models get a UK-specific chassis with revised dampers, bushes and different steering, giving a more precise, better-tied-down drive.
Should I buy one?
Still trails the Mondeo dynamically, but the Vectra offers more space for marginally less money.
